Lancashire FA Announces Strategic Three-Year Partnership

Lancashire FA is proud to announce an exciting new three-year commercial partnership with Chorley-based signage specialists, Poppy Signs Limited. This agreement sees Poppy Signs appointed as Lancashire FA’s official contractor for all signage and graphics requirements, covering projects at the County Ground headquarters and beyond.

The partnership represents a significant step forward for both organisations. For Lancashire FA, this collaboration not only enhances the visual identity of its facilities and events but also generates new sponsorship revenue that will be directly reinvested into grassroots football across Lancashire. The initiative underscores Lancashire FA’s ongoing commitment to improving the quality, accessibility, and professionalism of football environments throughout the county.

Founded in 2004 by Managing Director David McDonald, Poppy Signs is a family-run company that has grown rapidly to become one of the UK’s leading signage providers. With an impressive track record in delivering large-scale commercial signage contracts, the company has gained recognition for its work with high-profile clients such as British Cycling, Sport England, and multiple professional football clubs including Watford FC, Southampton FC, Swansea City AFC, and Bradford City AFC. Locally, they are proud to have worked with Chorley FC and other community sports organisations.

Operating from a modern 7,000 sq/ft manufacturing facility equipped with CNC machinery, laser cutters, large format digital printers, and a full range of fabrication and finishing equipment, Poppy Signs is well placed to support Lancashire FA’s branding and signage needs. Their in-house installation teams enable them to provide a responsive, nationwide service with full control over quality and turnaround times.

Commenting on the partnership, David Chell, Lancashire FA’s Head of Commercial Operations, said:

“Having worked with Poppy Signs previously, I am pleased to agree a commercial partnership that will help to improve the image and profile of the County Ground and Lancashire FA HQ. This will then generate a sponsorship income that can be reinvested back into grassroots football.”

David McDonald, Managing Director of Poppy Signs, also shared his enthusiasm for the collaboration:

“We are delighted to be appointed as the signage contractor for Lancashire FA. We believe our experience and service capabilities, coupled with Lancashire FA’s drive to develop the County Ground and region-wide facilities, makes for a winning partnership. We’re excited to contribute to the ongoing transformation and professionalisation of football venues across Lancashire and look forward to working closely with David and the rest of the team.”

This partnership reflects a shared vision between the two organisations – combining commercial expertise and sporting passion to support the development of football infrastructure at every level. With work already underway, the collaboration promises to deliver a lasting impact across Lancashire’s football landscape for years to come.
